Suited to everyone! These workshops are a great introduction to First Aid or even as a follow up to your 8 Hour First Aid course to really make sure those skills are practiced, giving you the confidence to assist in a medical emergency.
There are no NZQA units with this course but you will receive an MOS certificate upon completion.
Covering the basic principles of First Aid and the importance of the "Chain of Survival". It will enable everyone to recognise a medical emergency, give you the confidence to act and give you some essential skills to help save someone's life. A great opportunity to practice those first aid skills you covered on your last course, work through any scenarios you may have thought of after returning to work and become a lot more comfortable and confident when providing care.
This course can be tailored to your organisation, with greater emphasis being put on those topics that are more relevant to you work environment or sport etc.
This course / workshop is informal, interactive and fun - everyone can save a life, and this is where you start to learn how.

The focus of these courses is to give the First Aider the confidence to provide medical assistance by working through realistic scenarios. They are also very useful for people who already have their First Aid Certificate and want to brush up on their skills. The hands-on nature of the workshop will cement all the theory that was thrown at you on your one or two day course! Practice, practice, practice!
Upon completion you will have the ability to recognise life threatening situations and be confident enough to offer medical assistance prior to the arrival of emergency services. You will also get a Medics On Scene Certificate of Achievement (Basic first Aid) to prove it!
