Sunday 9th April 2017 : 8:30 sign in for Juniors, 10:30 sign in for Seniors - go to the website for details It's been a while since I added to the blog, but Sunday the 19th of March was the Hawke's Bay Area Pony Club and Central and Southern Hawke's Bay Eventing ODE at Arran Station, Takapau. Anna Murphy ran an excellent event on a day that would have been perfect had it not been for an unfortunate accident early on in the day. We wish Lauren a full and speedy recovery so she can get back to what she loves doing. We would like to thank all those who helped us to care for Lauren before she was taken by Helicopter to Hospital. Sorry, we didn't get names, but your help in a very difficult and pressured situation was appreciated. A special mention has to go to Craig Dunderdale, Chief Cross Country Judge for the day, who recognised a compromised airway and got her into the right position prior to our arrival. An excellent bit of First Aid that undoubtedly had an impact on the outcome - well done, Hero status awarded to you Craig! The NZ Herald has an article on Lauren ( click here ) and I'm told it's also on the Hawke's Bay Area Pony Club Facebook page. Thank you to Anna (and her wonderful team of people from both HB Area Pony Club and C&SHB Eventing) for letting Medics On Scene provide the medical services for the event. I like to think we make a positive difference to those that are unlucky enough to need our services. Well done to all of the competitors and obviously to those that came out on top. I'm sure you enjoyed the event and look forward to the next one. Stay safe. If anyone wants a copy of these pictures and you can't download them, email me or "comment" and I will send the original through to you.
