Another staggeringly beautiful day in the Hawke's Bay! This weekend the guys and girls at Hawke's Bay Motorcycle Club showed us what the Magic Series is all about - and it was action all the way! An excellent, full day of fast paced racing around the Valley Road Track at Maraekakaho. I'll put some photos up here but if you want to see more go and visit our NEW Facebook page! Absolutely fantastic weather for the second of the 2 Hour Rounds held at Sherenden, near Hastings, with everyone enjoying the action out on track. We were a bit closer to the where it all happens this time so I've got a few photos to share.
Next weekend sees the start of the 2017 Magic series. You can see the details here on the HBMCC Facebook page : Facebook.
A big "Thank you" to HBMCC event organisers and club members for letting us take care of the medical requirements at your event in Tutira yesterday ... especially to Maria, Chantelle, Evelyn and Spud - a pleasure working with you. A great bunch of people and we're really looking forward to the next one!
In the meantime here are some moments I captured.
Don't forget that this weekend marks the beginning of the HBMCC 2 Hour MX Series in Waikoau Village.

It's been a while since I added to the blog, but Sunday the 19th of March was the Hawke's Bay Area Pony Club and Central and Southern Hawke's Bay Eventing ODE at Arran Station, Takapau. Anna Murphy ran an excellent event on a day that would have been perfect had it not been for an unfortunate accident early on in the day. We wish Lauren a full and speedy recovery so she can get back to what she loves doing.
We would like to thank all those who helped us to care for Lauren before she was taken by Helicopter to Hospital. Sorry, we didn't get names, but your help in a very difficult and pressured situation was appreciated. A special mention has to go to Craig Dunderdale, Chief Cross Country Judge for the day, who recognised a compromised airway and got her into the right position prior to our arrival. An excellent bit of First Aid that undoubtedly had an impact on the outcome - well done, Hero status awarded to you Craig!
The NZ Herald has an article on Lauren ( click here ) and I'm told it's also on the Hawke's Bay Area Pony Club Facebook page.
Thank you to Anna (and her wonderful team of people from both HB Area Pony Club and C&SHB Eventing) for letting Medics On Scene provide the medical services for the event. I like to think we make a positive difference to those that are unlucky enough to need our services.
Well done to all of the competitors and obviously to those that came out on top. I'm sure you enjoyed the event and look forward to the next one.
If anyone wants a copy of these pictures and you can't download them, email me or "comment" and I will send the original through to you.

WWDS held their 37th Annual Sports Meeting yesterday at the CHB A & P Show Grounds in Waipukurau. A fantastic day for everyone with a great atmosphere. There was so much going on throughout the day - encouragement rings, show jumping, show hunter, pleasure classes, pinto classes, kindergarten classes, the list goes on ... plenty for everyone giving riders of all ages and skill level a challenge, but most of all it was fun - just look at the faces in the photos below ...
Many thanks to everyone at Waipukurau-Waipawa District Sports Club for letting Medics On Scene provide the medical coverage for the day and making us feel welcome. Special thanks to Pat Barrett - he bought the ice-creams. Friend for life!!
If anyone wants a copy of the pictures below, email me and I will send it through to you.
Look forward to the next one!
Thank you to everyone at Dannevirke Pony Club for allowing Medics On Scene to provide the Medical coverage for their event at Dannevirke Show grounds on Sunday, particularly to Toni Trent and Charlie Menzies for their help in the days leading up to the actual event.
Sure, the weather didn't always play the game but that didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits. When it did warm up and the sun had a look from behind the clouds, it really showed off what a great venue Dannevirke PC has available to them. A really nice course with lots of variety and challenges.
Well done to all of the competitors and congratulations to the winners.
Here are some photos from the day. Feel free to leave a comment if you know who the riders are!
There are some more pics on their Facebook page
Thank you to Flaxmere Pony Club who hosted their ODE at Equestrian Park Hawke's Bay over the weekend, particularly to Raewyn and Lysbeth who put it all together. An extremely well run event - I know everyone agrees with that. Well done to all the riders and congratulations to the winners. You can visit the facebook page for photos of the prizegiving here.
In the meantime here's some images from the day ...
