Recently we've had good reason to get a few little things sorted around our family homes - things that don't really get thought about until it's 3 o'clock in the morning, it's "persisting" down outside and you need an Ambulance for a family member... That's when you realise the Ambulance personnel are going to find it tough to locate you. You remember there are no reflective numbers on the post box, the hedge has grown over anything that might have helped them find you and then you remember your porch lamp bulb never quite got replaced. Not the ideal combination in an emergency. Eventually the Paramedics find you and they want even more information than the 111 call taker ... you're getting frustrated now! "Just help my Mum!!" You have to remember that the Paramedics attending to your loved one need all of the relevant information so they can provide the correct treatment. The quicker they have it, the faster 'Mum' gets sorted. So get the info ready for them. Here's a great little booklet to hang on the fridge ... just in case you need it. Just download the file - it's free to use. Do it before you're panicking, scraping through drawers looking for all the right answers. This saves time, time you don't always have in an emergency. Click on the pdf download below. It's an A4 sheet, print it, fill it in, fold it into an A5 sized booklet and stick it on the fridge with the Star of Life facing outwards! Hand it over to the Ambulance Officers so they can get on with providing care and not spend time searching around for clues. Simple, then you can relax ... after you've done that hedge and put some reflective numbers on the letterbox!
